Happy Birthday Amie!!

Yesterday was my first born's birthday. 22 years old. Yep, that's right...22. How can that be? How did time go by so quickly? It seems like just yesterday she was playing dress up, playing dentist (she always loved to pretend she was a dentist), and falling asleep after a long day of pretending. Now it's her daughter,Lillie, who is dressing up, pretending all sorts of wonderful things. Treasure everyday with your little ones because they grow up too quickly. Posted by Picasa

Random Thoughts

I'm done with the purse. It turned out very cute and I'm half way done with my second one. This time I'm knitting it in a dark grey and I'm going to add some knitted flowers on the outside.

Tonight I'll be watching Friday Night Lights. I really like that show...it's suprisingly emotional.

Last weekend I went to Williams-Sonoma and picked up some Pecan Pumpkin Butter. Yum Yum. I've been spreading it on my toast every morning. If ya get a chance, get ya some!

Nikki update: Nikki is doing well living at her dad's house...but she just called me crying and informed me that her mother is sueing her for custody of the dog which she gave Nikki as a birthday gift. THat woman is insane.
Christian update: Thank you to all of you that left encouraging comments or encouraged me in person regarding Christian. She is doing okay...the counseling is helping and hopefully she will be able to process everything that happened to her and move on with her life. Just keep praying for her that she will be able to find peace through the storm.

Ummm...what else? I'm going to Paducah tomorrow to visit my parents...so that will be fun. I'll be back Thursday night...quick trip! Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday Adam!

Well, exactly nineteen years ago I was in excrusciating pain (no Epidural) trying to get this rather large child out of my body. I had all of my children without any medication (I'm not sure why!) but delivering Adam was especially painful...I'll spare you the details. But he has been such a blessing to our family and we are so proud of the young man he has become. We celebrated yesterday so of course I had to share the picture. Notice Christians face...her new thing is to make stupid faces everytime I'm taking a group picture. And I'm sure she didn't think I would actually post in on my blog for the whole world to see!

I really had a great weekend. I scrapbooked with friends all day on Saturday. It was so good to talk, be creative, drink Hot Spiced Tea on a slighty chilly day. Thanks Debbie!

I also finished my purse I've been knitting. I wish I had taken a picture of it before I washed it but I forgot. The felting process really worked and I just have to put the handles on it...then I'll take a picture and post. I'm very proud of myself for finishing something and I'm already working on another one.

I guess that's about it. Oh, and the Titans actually won yesterday...all of Nashville is celebrating their first victory of the season...it's about time!
Okay, gotta go....have a great day! Posted by Picasa

Check This Out!

My newest knitting project that I started yesterday. It will be a felted booga bag. You knit with 100% wool and then wash it twice in extra hot water which makes the fibers shrink up and you've got felt. And notice the circular needles, isn't that cool?! I get excited about the stupidest things.

So, yesterday I got the whole house cleaned (whoo-hoo), which means today the only thing around here to do is either scrapbook or knit. I know, I know...I lead a very boring life...but I feel lucky to be able to have such a boring life.

Umm, well, what else?...tonight Christian, Joey and I are going down to Cleveland and then we'll be attending Lee University's Preview Day tomorrow. Christian seems to very excited about the whole college thing...I'm sure she's a little nervous too, but I'm hoping tomorrow she will meet some other students that will be attending next year and that will ease her nerves a little.

Then, on Saturday I'm getting together will some friends to crop. I'm totally looking forward to that.

So I guess that's about it. Hope ya'll have a great rest of the week and an awesome weekend! Posted by Picasa

Scrappin always makes me feel better! Did this one last night, very quick layout but I like it. And who says you can't use flowers on a masculine layout?!

So I'm feeling better about things today. Getting my hair done is always a mood booster. I also got some new skin care stuff...Dermalogica. I really like it...I'm hopeing it makes my skin look young and beautiful. That's not asking too much is it? LOL

Ummm...it's Tuesday. What's on TV tonight? Well, Dog the Bounty Hunter is on at 8:00. I love that show...does this surprise you?! It sure does surpises my husband. He just laughs and shakes his head everytime he catches my watching. I think Dog probably has more women viewers than men. So if you've never watched it turn it on tonight.
Guess that's it for now...Hope you have a great rest of the day!

p.s. I almost forgot that Third Day's new Christmas CD is released today (see side bar). I'll be making a trip over to Lifeway to get it right after I pick up Lillie from preschool. I know it's early for Christmas music but I love Third Day and I can't wait to hear their new songs!

Warning, this is a long blog (for me anyway!)but I need to get all of this out!

I haven't blogged in a while because it was a stressful week around our house and I don't handle stress very well. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with other people's problems that I just want to stay in bed all day and become a hermit.

Adam's girlfriend got kicked out of her house by her mother. First of all, I know that usually there is two sides to every story and we really tried to see her mothers point of view. The problem is...there is no side to her story. If Nikki had done something to make her mom mad or some horrible thing that teenagers sometimes do, then I would have understood (but I still don't think making your 18 year old high school senior find another place to live is justified). But there was no reason why she did this. She just snapped one night...in Walmart of all places. Nikki came over the following day and she had a bruise on her neck and her nose was swollen. She was just broken hearted and confused, which just made my heart break. It was also very hard on Adam. He loves her, and wants to protect her and take care of her. They have dated for 2 years but he is not ready to get married of course, and so I think he felt helpless. So we loved on her and talked with her and encouraged her to call her dad and tell him what had happened. This of course made her mother even more furious, but her dad opened his home to her and I think she will be much happier with her dad. There is really a lot more drama to this story, but I'll spare you of that. If there was an up side to this story it this: I now see Nikki and a totally different light. I see how fragile she is and how her mom has been so controlling her whole life that Nikki has a hard time making decisions, even if it's decisions about her own safety. This whole thing has brought us closer and I think she will probably end up being my daughter-in-law someday...and I found out I'm okay with that!

Christian has been going though a very difficult time as well. It's not something that she wants me to publish for the whole world to see, so I will respect her and not give the details. But she has been hurt, and that makes me hurt. She is getting help, and I think she will heal...but she'll never forget.
Quoting Forest Gump, that's all I have to say about that.

So, this is Monday and I'm trying to get my emotional life back on track. I got my hair done this morning and my daughter Amie did an amazing job as usual. If you live in Murfreesboro and you need someone to do your hair, give her a call. Here's the link to the salon. Then I had lunch with a friend...Hi Tracy...and that was fun. And I started back on my diet today because I kinda went astray while I was sick. So I'm trying to get back to normal.

Now then, I really do feel better. Even though I know there are not that many people out there that actually read my blog! I'll try to blog on a more positive note tomorrow. Until then, I hope you have a great day!

That's my Girl!

This is Christian performing in the Variety Show at Oakland High School last week. She loves being in the lime light...can you tell?!
