Check this out...
Look at this...I just put this up in my scrapbook room. It's just a giant rub-on and then I hung 3 12x12 frames below it thinking I could add a layout to each one later on. But I kinda like the empty frames for now. Cool, huh?

We're Back!
We're back and here is a link to all of the pictures:
I'm busy trying to get caught up on laundry and cleaning the house. Adam did a good job of watering the plants outside and taking care of the dogs, but the house was just plain ole dirty...not his fault...I let it get out of control before I left.

The Beach
Today we went over to Cocoa Beach so Lillie could experience that. We had a great day, unfortunatly we all got a little burnt...especially Amie. I feel responsible because I'm her mother and also because I know how powerful the sun can be. :( Hopefully she will be better tomorrow. Sea World here we come!

As I write this post we are roling down I-75 just about to get on the Florida Turnpike (I borrowed Christian’s laptop)…about an hour away from Orlando. It’s sunny and very hot…just like it should be in Florida in June. We’ve been listening to some really fine music. Ya’ know how you feel when you listen to songs that were hits when you were in high school, and it takes you back to simpler times when your biggest worries you had were what you were going to wear that day to look cute…that’s what we’ve been feeling. I spent about an hour before we left downloading some great 70’s classic songs and burnt them on 3 CD’s. We have had a very nostalgic drive to say the least. Okay, this is really going to show my age, but they made some really great music back then: Foreigner, Boston, Journey, Styx, Bread, England Dan & John Ford Coley (?Joey picked that one out) Bee Gees, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Good Stuff, guys. Good Stuff. Takes you back, doesn’t it?!

Well, I had a great birthday on Tuesday...Joey & Lillie took me to Jim & Nick's BBQ (I totally love that place) and then we went home for cake and presents with Amie and Adam (Christian was at work). I am filling in answering the phones at Joey's office this week for someone on vacation and when I walked into my office that morning I was surprised to find a birthday balloon, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and about 100 post-it notes decorating my walls that said Happy Birthday with his trade mark little goofy face (he always signs cards with this really goofy smiley face). Joey had gotten up early and instead of working out like he usually does he went to my office and hand wrote each note...very thoughtful!
The next morning he totally surprised me again. I walked into the kitchen to find another bouquet of flowers and a card and wondered why he was getting me flowers for the day after my birthday. I opened the card and he reminded me that 25 years ago we had our first date (again, signing with the goofy smiley face). I cried! ...very thoughtful! How did I get so lucky? If you look closely the card has Mickey and Minnie on it because we are headed to Orlando to go to Disney World tomorrow (or as Lillie calls it "Mickey World"). Amie and Lillie are going with us, and we are so excited. I'm planning on enduring Mickey world one day, Sea World one day, and the rest of the week laying by the pool reading. Oh, and we are gonna run over to Cocoa Beach one day so Lillie can experience the ocean. Ahhh...can't wait!

Checking In!
I'm not quite sure why my enthusiasm about blogging has wained. But anyways, it has. So I thought I would just start posting embedded albums for my family to see. So, here's the first album of a trip Lillie and I went on with my mom to Kansas over Memorial Day weekend for my mom's family reunion.

Christian graduates high school tomorrow...and I'm really having a hard time with it. I thought I would just be relieved to have them all almost grown up, but now that's not how I feel at all.
I long for the days of T-ball games and cub scouts. :(
Anyway, I made a movie for Christian of some pictures of her growing up. It will probably bore you to death but I know my mom will enjoy seeing it!

I know...I know...It's been a long time. But I just had to share some pictures. Tonight is Christian's Senior Prom and I know my mom would love to see how beautiful she looks. So here they are:
Christian and her new boyfriend, Nathan (who, as you can see didn't go with her to the Prom!)
Christian and her date, Tennyson Dodd (he is very cute, isn't he?!!)

Hello from Sunny Florida
...well, not exactly as sunny as I would like it. It was mostly cloudy today and very windy. Even though the weather man said it got up to 76 degrees I laid at the pool with a t-shirt on and a towel covering my legs. But I still enjoyed every minute of it. Yesterday and today were spent totally relaxing by the beach and pool. That's what I love to do on vacation. Just lay out in the sun and read a book. I finished my first book -Blue Like Jazz - today and found it so thought provoking. I don't agree with everything Don Miller believes but it definitely got me thinking about my life and I have come to the conclusion that he's right about a majority of the issues he addresses. I enjoyed his book so much that we went to Barnes and Noble tonight and I picked out another one of Don Millers books...along with The Message, which I have been wanting to get for a long time. I keep trying to put links to these books but I'm using a very old laptop and a dial up connection (which is soooo 1999) and it's just not working. I'll probably blog more about my reading when I get home.
So that's what is going on with me. Just reading, getting a tan, spending time with my best friend, relaxing. Pure enjoyment!!

As you know I havn't had time to blog lately because I've been working at Oakland High School as the Substitute Secretary. I have truly enjoyed it and it looks like it could be turning into a permanent position. One of the things that I have really liked about it is getting to know the students. I'm lucky enough to have 3 of the starters of the basketball team as office workers which promted Joey and I to actually start going to the basketball games. We have had so much fun watching games and getting to know other parents and teachers. The team has worked so hard and it really had paid off by being ranked 2nd in the state. But last night was the last game of the season. They lost in the second round of the state tournament in a 3 overtime game...yes, that's right...3 overtimes. It was the most exciting game I have ever seen. But by the end of that last overtime they had played so hard and I could see the frustration and disappointment on their faces. The other team had scored 4 points and it became a reality that they couldn't fight back enough to get a win. I actually left with 20 seconds left on the clock because I knew I didn't want to see that look of disappointment in their eyes. It was heart wrenching. :(
But I am so, so proud of them! Here's a link to the article in the paper about the game.
Other news in my life: Yesterday we celebrated Lillie's birthday. She will be four on Wednesday and since Joey and I are going out of town (Yah!) we had a little party for her. Can you believe she is 4?!!!
And.........this afternoon Joey and I are heading down to Palm Beach Shores for the week. For a whole week I plan on laying on the beach, reading a couple books, doing absolutely nothing. Pure enjoyment!
Of course I post a couple pictures when I get back.
Hope you have a great weekend!

The Music Man...Again!
I went back today to see the last performance of the Music Man and to take better pictures. I was thoroughly entertained again. All of the students did such a great job and really had fun doing it.
So this week I've got Young Life at my house on Monday night, basketball game on Tuesday night, Small Group on Wednesday. I'm free on Thursday night...I guess I'll do laundry. Then Friday, ohhhhhhh I can't wait till Friday. A group of eight of us scrapbookers have rented a house up in Joelton and we are going to scrapbook all weekend long. I'm not sure I have that much scrappin' to do (I'm kinda caught up) so I'm going to bring along a knitting project too. I'm just really looking forward to getting away with some great friends. Can't wait til Friday....did I already say that?!!
Hope you all have a great week!

The Music Man
Christian is in her high school musical "The Music Man" which started Thursday night and continues until tomorrow. I can not tell you how professional this little musical was...especially for high school. The acting, singing, just the whole thing was so entertaining. There are some very talented young people at Oakland High School and I'm so proud of them. I'm going back tomorrow just to take pictures.
