A trip to the Greenway

Today we went for a walk and picnic along the Greenway and had a really great time. I got some awesome pictures but you wouldn't believe what I went through to get them. Lillie doesn't do poses very well!

Now, notice what Lillie is wearing. She's got a Bob Marley t-shirt (like where did Amie get that?!), black goucho's (very "in" this summer), and check out those shoes...catapiller clogs. She dresses herself, can you tell?!

I've been scrappin' tonight. I finally had some pictures with Amie and Lillie together. It feels good to work on something other than Christian or Lillie! Posted by Picasa

*okay, so you know by now that Sean was hired as The Apprentice. it's old news but a good thing.

*this morning i woke up to Fox News reporting about the death of terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq. A very good thing for America and the world.

*and this, my friends, is a picture of Joey (my husband), Christian (my daughter), and Meagan (her friend). Yesterday, they went to a small amusement park/water park in Bowling Green, KY called Beechbend Parks. It must have been a great day to go 'cause there was hardly anybody there so they never waited in lines. They rode this roller coaster 10 times and got a real kick out of posing for the camera each time on their way down a 50' drop. I think they had a really great day just acting like big kids....all three of them!

* and I'll leave you with this: (copied from another blog)
Scrapped - The Movie

"Scrapped" is a new movie in the works to be premiering August 5th. It is a documentary about the popularity of scrapbooking. The official website of "Scrapped" is here, where you can download a short promo of the movie including some of the movie's footage or you can read about the process of making it here on their blog.

The promo looks very intriguing. It shows a biker guy all decked out in a Ramones leather jacket walking into a scrapbooking store (or maybe it's a crop) full of ladies who are looking at him in open-mouthed surprise. To quote a description of the movie from the official website, "Award winning writer/director Wes Thomsen tackles this traditionally feminine activity with bullish enthusiasm as he gears up and goes in on a mission to learn the skills, language and tools of this strange culture."

Such A Big Girl!

Well, today she did it. Amie took Lillie to get her ears peirced. Lillie has been wanting earrings for quite a while and Amie kept telling her it would hurt. But she wanted them anyway, so today was the day. I went along for moral support and the document this very important event (like any great scrapbooker would!) She was so brave and did exactly what they told her to do. But it did hurt. And she just couldn't hold the tears in. So we went next door to get some gourmet candy which made everything okay.

Well, tonight is the final episode of The Apprentice. My prediction is that Sean will win hands down, but you never know what The Donald is thinking so Lee could win. Well just have to wait and see.

I've been busy this morning!

This one's for my son, Adam. He's a volunteer fire fighter and wants to do it as a career. The journaling reads: I love to see the excitement on your face, the spark in your eye, everytime your radio alarm goes off signaling a fire. I know with your determination you'll be a career Firefighter someday.
Of course, this is Lillie. Can you believe I put that many photos on one layout? ...very unusual for me. But I'll probably scrap some of these pictures more that once.
and this is the view from my front porch...i love my front porch!

sorry, it's been so long since i blogged...been busy, i guess. i worked today and we were really busy because of a big sale. got home about 4 then i finished this layout that i started last night. this is my first "doodleing" layout and i'm quite please with how it turned out. for you "non" scrapbookers, i'm sure this is no big deal, but for the rest of you...i have been trying to get freestyle enough to doodle for a few months. i finally made myself sit down and just do it. so this is what i came up with. i really like the black pen i got...it's a Gelly Roll Glaze by Sakura. i love the way the black lines are very black. maybe i'll get inspired to do another doodle layout tomorrow.
going to some friends house tonight for dinner. i'm gonna take my camera and see if they will cooperate and let me take some pictures. i need some pictures of good friends to work on for a change. Posted by Picasa

I taught a 4 hour class today. Whew, we made a whole baby album. The class went fine, it's just a lot of pages to get through during one class.
Then I came home and scrapbooked as my little reward to myself. I plan on doing some more tonight, but this is what I have so far. I took a picture instead of scanning because I don't quite have my new scanner figured out. If anyone has some tips on taking pictures of layouts please share them with me. Thanks. Posted by Picasa

He won...my favorite contestant won ... except for Chris, of course! It was a really great show this year. Seems like they worked hard on making the whole show entertaining, not just the last 5 minutes.
Then I watched the finale episode of Top Chef. I know. I know. I really need to get a life. I'm just addicted to reality TV. But anyway, my favorite won Top Chef as well. Here's Harold, the new Top Chef:

I have one more "final episode" to watch...The Apprentice, on Monday night. I'm looking forward to that.
I have to work today, but I think I'll post a couple of my latest layouts tonight. Hope you have a great day!

Today I spent the day scrappin' with my friend, Jill. HI JILL!!! Good creative fun. Not a whole lot done, but still a lot of fun.
Then Joey and I went out to La Siesta for dinner. You all know how much I love La Siesta. The chips, the salsa, the margarita's...needless to say we had a good time!
So, tonight is the season finale of American Idol. I actually voted last night for my favorite contestant....I'll let you know if my choice wins after the show...I don't want to jinx it!

It's Official!

Well, it's official...Adam graduated high school this morning.
He's over there somewhere!!! He had 294 people in his class and it's amazing how fast they have this whole graduating process down. We were out of there in just under and hour (yeah!) Then everyone came over for some good food and a little party. Both sets of grandparents, his girlfriend and her mom, sisters, and some friends. I think it really made Adam feel special. I made a dvd of pictures from his birth to now and had that playing during the party. There is something about putting music to pictures that makes it real emotional...I can't tell you how many times Joey and I cried while getting that project together. But I think Adam appreciated it and everyone else had fun laughing at some of the goofy shots of him!
We also had a very yummy cake!
Now, everyone is gone and I've got a little time to rest before some friends come over for dinner. My allergy's are totally out of control today. Gonna have to find some drugs for that....and maybe take a nap! Talk to ya later!

I had a great visit with my mom on Sunday and Monday. I got some really great photos of her and my dad. And I'm really glad Amie and Lillie were able to come with me. We had a good time.
So yesterday I thought I better get back on my weight watchers program, and kinda de-tox from all of the junk food, and of course I get a head-ache. So I'm searching through the cabinet looking for Tylenol. I don't know how I missed that bright red cap on the bottle but I thought we didn't have any. So I took Advil instead. Big mistake. I forgot that it has a weird reaction in my body. My chest started closing in, I was having a hard time breathing. Had to call Joey to come home in case I really couldn't breath. My eyes were all itchy and watery. So I took 2 Benydryl...which of course put me right to sleep. I missed the first half of American Idol. Is anyone else out there allergic to Advil? My reaction seems to get worse each time I do that. I don't think I'll make that mistake again.
Well, Adam graduates on Saturday. So Joey and I are busy working around the house this week getting everything looking nice before his party. Lots to do! I'll post pictures tomorrow.
Have a great day!
